The Zombie, Godmother and Green Hornet

Leah quickly emptied out the bulky homemade bar right before I destroyed it with a sledge after a rather disappointing Jazz game. LINK.

The family of the previous owners not only left the bar in our basement, but they also abandoned all the stuff jammed inside. It was only later when I calmed down and was cleaning up the wood chunks, that Leah showed me a few gems she found amid the decades old trash.

Here are two of our favorite leftover items:

This is a cloth flag that Leah wants to get framed.

This old recipe book from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board includes some standards like pina colada and bloody marys, but it also has a few special drinks like the Zombie, which includes pineapple juice, two types of rum and a shot of apricot brandy, and the Godmother, a vodka and amaretto drink served over ice. Other provocatively named drinks include the Singapore Sling, Between the Sheets and the Green Hornet.
