Reading Book: Superfreakonomics Author: Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner My Thoughts: Starts off explaining why drunk walking is more dangerous than drunk driving. Then moves on to the economics of prostitution. If nothing else, this book should be very entertaining.
Just Finished Book: Mind Wide Open Author: Steven Johnson My Thoughts: The brain is fascinating . . . and messed up.
Now Playing on the Chinatown Bus
The Shield (season 7) Nothing like police brutality in Los Angeles. I like this show because the cops don't always get their guy, sometimes they totally blow it.
Words Leah Has Made Up
Bar-together: A gathering of friends at a pub, saloon or other place where alcohol is served.
Blogvel: An incredibly long blog item that in some ways resembles a novel.
Body drop: A dense wooded area off the side of the road where a killer could drop a body and be reasonably assured that a passerby won’t find it for awhile.
Borence: An epic movie that is epically boring. Inspired by watching Lawrence of Arabia.
Chow meiniac: Anyone person crazy enough to drive a really long distance to get some chow mein from Panda Express.
Eggburner disqualification: A diner that would be otherwise good but burns eggs, making them dead to me.
Footcicle: when your feet are solid blocks of ice that can only be thawed by an electric blanket.
Laugh-overs: Another term for residual laughter.
Nickel Fix: A rigged home repair using spare change.
Tip Inflation: When the over abundance of tip jars (for stuff like a $4 coffee) leads greedy businesses to cut employee wages, since now they “earn” tips. Increasing the cost of said coffee for us consumers.
