Refinishing hardwoods is not fun. Doing it a second time because the first time didn't go well is also not very fun.
I've grudgingly started this process, which involves using a three-inch belt sander and a whole lot of elbow grease. Leah and I liked the dark walnut color we splashed on the floors shortly after buying this place, but the "environmentally safe" stain and sealant never really sealed right. The floor is gritty and grimy.
So for our second attempt, we've decided to go no stain and I plan to use the most toxic sealant possible — the more oily and chemically the better — because one thing is for certain: I don't want a third trip around this carousel.

Nice work babe. I'll do the next round.
Looking Good. Is this the only room to do?
